This was made for Yogscast Game Jam 2021
Prismatic is a strategic tower-defence game with a unique twist. Place Light Orbs to paint the world with colour. Overlapping colours merge into a new colour, effecting the enemy in a different way. Come up with the best way to align your orbs to survive as long as possible and protect the Light Crystal from the soldiers of Shadow.
Controls
Controls tend to be specific to certain contexts, and there are tooltips available, but generally:
- Left click- confirm menu choice
- Right click - cancel/access menu of an orb
- Scroll wheel - rotate
- Shift + scroll - rotate faster
- Ctrl - snap to grid
- Space - pause game
Tutorial
This tutorial is also available in game:
- Drag orbs from the left onto the level.
- Buying/Upgrading costs photons - kill enemies to get them.
- Rotate/Move to angle their light. Right click orb to access their menu.
- You can pause any time with SPACE or the pause button.
- Different coloured areas do different things.
- White enemies are unharmed by anything but white areas!
- You lose score the more photons you spend, so spend wisely!
- Enemy health increases the longer you survive
- Colours are as follows:
- Red: Fire, lingering damage
- Green: Drain enemy health, produces photons
- Blue: Slows enemies
- Magenta: Multiplies damage done to affected enemy by 1.25x
- Yellow: Lightning, damages all previous enemies
- Cyan: Freezes enemies, then damages them
- White: Instantly kills the white enemy
- Stop the enemies of Light from destroying your crystal!
